Do Your New Year's Resolutions Fail?
Why do your New Year's Resolutions fail? And what's the best option this year? You probably have the best of intentions!
This year, you are going to make New Year’s Resolutions and actually stick with them. Sounds good?
I hate to break it to you... But research shows most of us will ditch our resolutions around the 2-3 month mark.
I want 2024 to be your best year ever and I’m here to support you. So what can you do so you succeed?
Rather than goals, I like the idea of setting standards for yourself.
Standards are actions based on your values - things that really matter to you.
Here’s an example from my own life.
I’ve set the standard that I will prioritise my physical health, as it leads to so many amazing benefits such as good mental health.
That means weight training, walking and prioritising protein and nutrition in my diet.
Plus taking time to rest and recover as well.
Your standards might be boundaries that you set at work.
Or ensuring you put time aside on the weekend for a hobby you really enjoy.
Setting yourself up with standards that you want to stick to is much more powerful than writing down a goal..
Standards show you care about yourself.
Standards show you are willing to compromise.
Standards show you are capable of change.
A goal is something that you might reach but then what?
How do you embed new habits into your life?
Consistency, consistency and consistency is the key!
And taking super-small actions, on a regular basis.
That way, your brain builds new neural pathways with the new habits embedded.

As the year draws to a close, here are 3 questions you can ask yourself.
What was the biggest lesson you learnt about yourself this year?
What do you want to leave behind in 2023?
What standards will you set for yourself in 2024?
