Hi it’s your friend Soph.

If you are feeling burnout, overwhelmed or dealing with a chronic illness, I want you to know this.

You are not broken.

You are just human.

And you’re not alone.

I want to share the practices that helped me recover from burnout, which I hope will help you too!

These mindset shifts are simple but powerful.

And it might be just what your nervous system needs.

The exact 5 things I would do to heal myself today.

1.   Just because you can…

doesn’t mean you have to.

What does this look like when you put this in practice?

You don’t have to say yes to every request.

You don’t need to stretch yourself just because you can.

Remember, no is a complete sentence.

You have every right to protect your time, energy, and focus.

2.   Your body is always listening

Recover from burnout
Your nervous system is designed to look for signs of safety.

If you are exhausted, it can feel threatened and shuts down.

The good news?

You can gently bring yourself back through nervous system practices.

Simple daily rituals like deep breathing, grounding walks or even placing a hand on your heart reminds your body ‘you are safe.’

These rituals may seem small, but telling yourself ‘you are safe’ can create profound shifts in how you feel.

3. Rest is your right – not a reward

You don’t have to earn rest.

Your productivity doesn’t define your worth.

Giving yourself permission to pause, without feeling guilty, is one of the most life-giving acts you can give yourself.

You are already worthy, exactly as you are.

My restful activity on the weekends is to read at least 10 pages of a beautifully written novel.

It takes me into a whole new world and switches off my busy brain.

Meaningful relationships are good for you

4. Connection restores you

Meaningful relationships don’t just feel good.

They are good for you.

Social connection lowers cortisol, boosts mood-boosting hormones, and even supports your immune function.

But even beyond the science, connection reminds you that you belong.

Find your tribe.

These are the people who lift you up and accept you without judgement.

5.  Set boundaries without guilt

Boundaries are there to protect your time, energy and focus.

You are much harder to replace as a friend, partner and parent than as an employee.

Say yes with intention.

Say no with kindness.

Protect your energy like it’s sacred, because it is.

True healing isn’t a quick fix.

Your daily actions determine who you will become in the future.

So invest in yourself.

You are worth it.

You are allowed to thrive.

And you are always allowed to begin again.

With love,
