The Most Reliable Way to Predict Your Future is to Create it.
This week, I was sitting in my car, waiting to pick up one of my sons.
I was scrolling through my social media, when this saying popped up:
“The most reliable way to predict your future is to create it.”
These words really resonated with me.
Let me explain why.
Anytime you face uncertainty, you turn to what feels predictable and safe.
Some things are outside your control.
How other people act.
How other people behave.
But you always have control over your own thoughts, feelings and actions.
And it brought me back to the quote.
To create the future you want, commit to practices today that benefit ‘the future you.’
Scientists call this ‘behavioural activation theory.”
Or in simpler terms, act like the person you want to become.
Think about it.
At the start of this year, what kind of person did you want to become?
And how is your journey going?
This time of year I like to revisit my goals and aspirations.
There’s one small step which helps me stay consistent.
No matter which day of the week, whether I am working or on holidays, I focus on the micro-habits of my morning routine for my wellbeing.
The short meditation with my first cup of tea of the day.
Moving my body in the morning, even for 10 minutes.
Consistency really is your super-power!
I want to help your habits become so automatic, that you don’t need to rely on motivation.
How are your 2025 goals tracking?
What are you struggling the most with?
